Friday 30th October 2009

The new Londis Manager User Group had their first meeting on 22nd October. The meeting was hosted by Spedi Software at their offices and chaired by Graham Cooper of Musgrave Retail Partners (GB).

The purpose of the meeting was to outline the current status of the Londis Manager system, which is currently in use in over 200 Londis stores, and to plan the future development. There are still nearly 200 stores on the older version of the Laser system, and these will also be upgraded within 12-18 months.

After introductory Power Point presentations by Graham Cooper and David Mendus, ideas were invited from all parties. After lively discussion over sandwiches and doughnuts, these were prioritised by benefit and complexity.

The next steps are to agree an achievable set of enhancements to be included in the next release. The target is to release this by March 2010. Other agreed developments will be carried forward to a future release towards the end of the year.

Retailer Mike Howe was elected as chairman of the group. Regular meetings and conference calls will take place to ensure that the system continues to meet the needs of the retailers to achieve maximum profitability with minimum time spent on paperwork.
