Easy to use

We developed SPEDI PoS to be the best scanning point-of-sale system for convenience stores and similar businesses. We used our 20 years if experience to design a product to increase your profits, providing the features you need at the best possible price. SPEDI PoS guides the operator using a clear display, and offers the available options in a short, cleat English text (or any other language you wish). You may set the screen yourself to include only the functions and products that you want, and to present them in the most suitable way for your business. No computer knowledge is requires from the operator.

The functions and procedures will be familiar from older cash register systems, but using them will be faster and easier. You can sell a product by scanning, entering a velocity code, or by selecting a product from buttons on the screen. The payment types and procedures can be defined to meet your needs. Customer displays and receipts are clear and helpful and meet official requirements.

Secure

A secure till system makes a huge contribution to your profitability. In SPEDI PoS five security levels are available for each function. Every operator action is logged electronically and may be reviewed. With SPEDI Link you may review transactions as they occur and carry out detailed analysis. Your operators will know you have this information available. The cash control options include operator reports, deferred Z readings, cash reconciliation at the till or the back office, and discreet alerts when cash in drawer limits are exceeded. Vouchers may be printed to record cash back, account transactions, lottery payments, etc. The electronic log may be held as your VAT record on disk.

Stand alone

We have designed SPEDI PoS so that the entire selling process uses only the computer on which it is installed. Though the back office should be available across a network to send updated files and to receive and store data, selling is not affected by network problems or failures. A simple industry standard network is used, though we recommend the use of good computers.

Mix and Match

There are powerful mix and match and multi-buy features. You can set up all types of offer, simple or more complicated. Examples include, ‘buy on, get one free’, ‘buy any three can of soup for 99p’, ‘buy six cans of larger and save 15p, buy 24 and save £1.00’,’buy a gin and a tonic and get a lemon free’, or ‘buy 12 bottles of Australian wine and get 5% off. You can even print vouchers for schemes such as ‘Buy three 2l bottles of coke this month and get a mars bar free next month’.

Accounts

Customer accounts can be set up using SPEDI Link or SPEDI News. Items can be charges to accounts, payments can be made to accounts, and balances may be displayed (and optionally printed) at the till. For news accounts payments can be made to last Saturday, next Sunday, or today.

Credit and debit cards

SPEDI PoS can be linked to a Verifone 3750 terminal which gives exceptionally cost effective and easy to use processing of credit and debit cards. The terminal dials the bank automatically if authorization is required, to protect your interests. Overnight the transactions are collected and forwarded to the bank for settlement. The terminal is accredited for chip and pin transactions and will provide an inexpensive upgrade.

Scale attachment

SPEDI PoS is approved by the national Weights and Measures Laboratory for use with scales. We recommend the use of Avery or Herbert scales. Note that your till hardware must also be approved for use with scaled; ask our support team for advice on this.

Versatile hardware

SPEDI PoS can be run on almost any kind of equipment which can run Windows XP Professional (our recommended operating system). It can be run with a keyboard or a touch screen. In your own interests you should attach a retail printer, display and cash drawer. You will find that our resellers have excellent ranges of hardware available for you.
